Interviews have been set in Knoxville, Tennessee with past performers of the Harlem in Havana stage show. Pre-Production filming will start in early June 2011 for a fundraising trailer. After Knoxville, we will travel to Memphis, TN, hometown to Harlem in Havana producer extraordinaire, Leon Claxton, and Blues Music on Beale Street. We’ll visit with Rocky Wynder (Knoxville jazz great) and the Meyers twins (from the 50s DooWop group, the Five Pennies) all who performed and traveled with the HARLEM IN HAVANA troupe early in their careers.
We’re still seeking past performers of HARLEM IN HAVANA! Hopefully our trip to Tennessee will uncover new interview subjects!
